Down the road from my house is an old, empty newspaper office. Until recently, when a renovation began, the sign on the building said News-Record.
Driving by it nearly every day, I started thinking about signs I could make by rearranging the letters. Worn Creeds. Drone Crews. Crown Deers. And then it came to me: Word-Screen.
As someone who has made his living in online media, this rearrangement spoke to me, and it seemed to sum up what I do. Writing, editing, websites, social media, SEO, content — in the end, it’s all about putting words on screens.
I’ve been doing this, as a consultant and as an editor at Golf.com and The New York Times, for more than 20 years. I can help you do it too.
